SMARAN SERIES

"Smaran" is a hindi word meaning remembrance, recollection & commemoration. Indian music has been blessed with some of the greatest singers and composers. We have been organizing the "Smaran" series of programmes every year since 1997.

Each "Smaran" is dedicated to one of the late legends of the Indian Music. ‘Smaran’ is a very popular and eagerly awaited music show on the music scene in Ajmer. Participants of 'Smaran' are the Kala-Ankur members, and even the talented non members. The young singers, selected through our annual talent search programme 'KHOJ' are also provided with an opportunity, exposure and platform in these programmes. Besides presenting the songs of the late legend being remembered, the life sketch of the maestro is narrated including some anecdotes and audio/video clippings during the programme.

A souvenir containing the detailed information on the life of the late music legend and the up to date information about the activities and achievements of Kala Ankur is also given in the souvenir. The souvenir is a result of hard work and thorough study and research by the members of the Kala Ankur.
